Ivor Mairants (1908 - 1998) was a distinguished guitarist, composer, writer and teacher. From the 1930s he was a featured banjoist and then guitarist of many of Britain's leading dance bands. During the 60's and 70's he often recorded for television, radio and film soundtracks. Mairants also devoted much of his time to writing music and instructional methods for the guitar.
