This advertisement for Hofner Guitars appeared in the September 1952 edition of B.M.G. Manufactured in Germany, the instruments were distributed by Selmer of London. They were considerably more accessible to aspiring musicians in the U.K. than American-made guitars which were apparently quite expensive at the time. Consequently, Hofners served as "starter" instruments for several well known 1960s musicians.
