This advertisement appeared in March 1957 edition of B.M.G. and served to introduce a new range of Zenith guitars : The New Zenith Model 17, the New De Luxe Zenith Model Standard 21 and the New Zenith Super Cutaway De Luxe Model 33.
Ivor Mairants commissioned German guitar manufacturer Framus to make these Zenith Guitars, with Boosey & Hawkes being the sole distributor. Each guitar was personally approved and signed by the respected UK jazz guitarist.

Paul McCartney composed his earliest songs (including "When I'm Sixty Four") on a Zenith Model 17 guitar, received in exchange for a trumpet (bought by his father for Paul's 14th birthday).
how much would it be now
ReplyDeleteHi Mary It would depend on the condition of the guitar. I noticed a Zenith Model 17 guitar advertised on the internet for 250 pounds a while ago. Gary
