Bert Weedon OBE (1920 – 2012) was a British guitarist with a popular and influential playing style during the 1950s and 1960s. He was the first British guitarist to have a hit record, "Guitar Boogie Shuffle" in the UK Singles Chart in 1959. He was awarded an OBE in 2001 for his services to music.
His well-known method book, Play in a Day, was an initial tutor for many leading British musicians including Eric Clapton, Brian May, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and John Lennon.
